۞ It is He Who created you from a single soul, and from him made its mate for him to gain comfort with her; so when the male covered her, she was burdened lightly in her womb, and she therefore moved easily carrying it; and when she felt the burden heavy, they both cried to their Lord Allah, “Indeed You may give to us a child as You will, so we will surely be thankful.” 189 But when He giveth them a goodly child, they ascribe to others a share in the gift they have received: but Allah is exalted high above the partners they ascribe to Him. 190 Do they associate with Him those who create nothing and are themselves created? 191 The idols are things that are not able to help others or even themselves. 192 And if you call them to guidance, they follow you not. It is the same for you whether you call them or you keep silent. 193 Those whom you (pagans) worship besides God, are themselves servants just like yourselves. If your claim was true, they should answer your prayers. 194 Have they feet to walk with? Have they hands to punish with? Have they eyes to see with? Have they ears to hear with? Say: 'Call on your partners and then try to scheme against me. Give me no respite. 195 "Verily, my Wali (Protector, Supporter, and Helper, etc.) is Allah Who has revealed the Book (the Quran), and He protects (supports and helps) the righteous. 196 "And those whom you call upon besides Him (Allah) cannot help you nor can they help themselves." 197 And if ye (Muslims) call them to the guidance they hear not; and thou (Muhammad) seest them looking toward thee, but they see not. 198 Take to forgiveness and enjoin good and turn aside from the ignorant. 199 If an evil impulse from Satan provokes you, seek refuge with God; He is all hearing, and all knowing. 200 Surely those who guard (against evil), when a visitation from the Shaitan afflicts them they become mindful, then lo! they see. 201 Their brethren plunge them further into error and cease not. 202 And when you, [O Muhammad], do not bring them a sign, they say, "Why have you not contrived it?" Say, "I only follow what is revealed to me from my Lord. This [Qur'an] is enlightenment from your Lord and guidance and mercy for a people who believe." 203 So when the Qur'an is recited, then listen to it and pay attention that you may receive mercy. 204 And remember your Lord within your hearts humbly and with fear, and softly with your tongues, morning and evening, and do not be of the neglectful. 205 Surely those who are with your Lord are not too proud to serve Him, and they declare His glory and prostrate in humility before Him. ۩ 206
