Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
