Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 and the graves are turned inside out, 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 The One Who created you, then moulded you, then made you proper? 7 Shaping you into any form He pleased? 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 Illustrious scribes 11 They know (and understand) all that ye do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 They will burn in it on the Day of Judgement, 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 The day on which no soul shall control anything for (another) soul; and the command on that day shall be entirely Allah's. 19
