The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the midday brightness 1 And by oath of the night when it covers, 2 Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]. 3 And surely what comes after is better for you than that which has gone before. 4 soon you will be gratified with what your Lord will give you. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and protect (thee)? 6 Did He not find thee erring, and guide thee? 7 And He found you poor, and made you rich (selfsufficient with selfcontentment, etc.)? 8 Therefore do not oppress the orphan. 9 And as for him who asks, do not chide (him), 10 Therefor of the bounty of thy Lord be thy discourse. 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
