The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 And leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are froward folk. 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
