Al-Zukhruf 4 of 7
As for one who turns away from the remembrance of the Gracious God, We appoint for him a devil, who will become his intimate companion. 36 And verily they hinder them from the way, whilst they deem that they are rightly guided. 37 till, when he comes to Us, he says, 'Would there had been between me and thee the distance of the two Easts!' An evil comrade! 38 And since you were unjust, it will not profit you this day that you are sharers in the chastisement. 39 Can you [Prophet] make the deaf hear? Or guide either the blind or those who are in manifest error? 40 Even if We take thee away, We shall be sure to exact retribution from them, 41 Or (if) We show thee that wherewith We threaten them; for lo! We have complete command of them. 42 So hold thou fast to the Revelation sent down to thee; verily thou art on a Straight Way. 43 It is a (source) of greatness for you and your people. You will surely be questioned about it. 44 Yet [above all else,] ask any of Our apostles whom We sent forth before thy time whether We have ever allowed that deities other than the Most Gracious be worshipped! 45
