No! By the moon 32 And the night when it departs, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 A warning to mortals, 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until death approached us". 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 running away from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
