The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when souls are united, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
