The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe unto the defrauders: 1 when they measure against the people, take full measure 2 Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. 3 Do not these think that they shall be raised again 4 For a mighty day, 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 No indeed; the Book of the libertines is in Sijjin; 7 and what could make you understand what the Sijjin is? -- 8 A written record. 9 Woe, on that Day, to those who reject, 10 those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense. 11 Yet none gives the lie to it except the transgressor immersed in sin; 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 Nay, but surely on that day they will be covered from (the mercy of) their Lord. 15 They will suffer the heat of fire 16 Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." 17 No indeed; the book of the pious is in Illiyun; 18 And what will make you know what the highest Iliyin is? 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 To which bear witness those brought nigh. 21 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous will indeed be in bliss: 22 On Thrones (of Dignity) will they command a sight (of all things): 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be served a drink of the finest sealed wine, 25 whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- 26 And admixture thereof will be Water of Tasnim: 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 And, when they passed them, to wink at each other, 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 And upon seeing the Muslims, they used to say, "Indeed they have gone astray." 32 But they were not Sent to be guardians over them! 33 So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. 34 while reclining on couches and reviewing (the bounties given to them). 35 Did not the disbelievers get repaid for what they used to do? 36
