In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta Ha 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to you that you should be burdened, 2 Nay, it is a reminder to him who fears: 3 it is a revelation from Him who has created the earth and the high heavens, 4 The Beneficent God is dominant over the Throne (of the realm). 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, all that lies between them, and lies below the earth. 6 And if you speak aloud – so He surely knows the secret and that which is more concealed. 7 God: There is no god but He. To Him belong the attributes most beautiful. 8 And has the story of Moses reached you? - 9 When he saw a fire and said to his family: "Hold on! I have just perceived a fire; perhaps I will bring a brand from it for you, or I will find some guidance at the fire about the way to follow." 10 When he approached it, a voice called out: 11 "Verily! I am your Lord! So take off your shoes, you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa. 12 “And I have chosen you, therefore listen carefully to what is divinely revealed to you.” 13 Verily I am Allah. There is no god beside Me. So serve Me and establish Prayers to remember Me. 14 “The Last Day will surely come – it was close that I hide it from all – in order that every soul may get the reward of its effort.” (He revealed it to His Prophets, so that people may fear and get ready. The exact time is not revealed to the people.) 15 "Therefore let not such as believe not therein but follow their own lusts, divert thee therefrom, lest thou perish!".. 16 And what is that in thy right hand, O Moses? 17 He said: "This is my stick, whereon I lean, and wherewith I beat down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses." 18 "Throw it down, O Moses," said (the Voice). 19 So he threw it down, and all of a sudden, it turned into a fast-moving serpent. 20 (Allah) said, "Seize it, and fear not: We shall return it at once to its former condition".. 21 “And put your hand inside your armpit – it will come out shining white, not due to any illness – one more sign.” 22 That We may go on showing you Our greater signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh; he has transgressed all bounds." 24

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
