(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
