The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
