Now surely, unto Pharaoh's folk [too] came such warnings; 41 They belied Our signs everyone thereof; whereof We laid hold of them with the grip of the Mighty, Powerful. 42 Are your people who deny the truth better than those? Or have you been given immunity in the Scriptures? 43 Or do they say: 'We are a gathering that will be victorious' 44 Most certainly their gatherings shall be routed, and they will turn their backs. 45 Nay, the hour is their promised time, and the hour shall be most grievous and bitter. 46 for, behold, those who are lost in sin [will at that time come to know that it is they who] were sunk in error and folly! 47 On the day when they shall be dragged upon their faces into the fire; taste the touch of hell. 48 We have indeed created all things by a proper measure. 49 Our command consists of only one Word which is carried out in the twinkling of an eye. 50 And We have already destroyed your kinds, so is there any who will remember? 51 [They were truly guilty] because all [the evil] that they ever did had been [revealed to them as such] in the [ancient] books of [divine] wisdom; 52 and everything, great and small, is inscribed. 53 The God-conscious will find themselves in gardens and rivers, 54 in a sure abode, in the presence of a King Omnipotent. 55
