Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
A. L. M. 1 These are the verses of the sagacious Book, 2 As guidance and mercy for the doers of good 3 who establish Prayer and pay Zakah, and have firm faith in the Hereafter. 4 They are on guidance from their Lord, and will prosper. 5 But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty. 6 And when Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to such a one, he turns away in pride, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in his ear. So announce to him a painful torment. 7 Lo! those who believe and do good works, for them are the gardens of delight, 8 Therein they will be abiders: a true promise of Allah. And He is the Mighty, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without pillars you can see, and He cast on the earth firm mountains, lest it shake with you, and He scattered abroad in it all manner of crawling thing. And We sent down out of heaven water, and caused to grow in it of every generous kind. 10 Allah has created this – therefore show me what has been created by those other than Him; in fact the unjust are in open error. 11
