Al-Najm 3 of 3
Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 from a discharged living germ 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him. (Command of Prostration # 12) ۩ 62

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
