The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 But the foremost shall be [they who in life were] the foremost [in faith and good works]: 10 Those! they shall be the brought nigh, 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 And a few of later ages, 14 on lavish couches 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 And clusters of banana plants. 29 and extended shade, 30 Gushing water, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 We have made them virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
