The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
