The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars darken, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 The rising dawn, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
