The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 who creates [every thing,] and thereupon forms it in accordance with what it is meant to be, 2 Who measureth, then guideth; 3 Who brings out the pastures 4 and thereupon causes it to decay into rust-brown stubble! 5 We shall make you recite (the Qur'an) so that you will not forget it, 6 save what God may will [thee to forget] - for, verily, He [alone] knows all that is open to [man's] perception as well as all that is hidden [from it] 7 We shall take you slowly towards ease. 8 Therefore, keep on preaching as long as it is of benefit. 9 in mind will keep it he who stands in awe [of God,] 10 but the most wretched shall avoid it, 11 even he who shall roast in the Great Fire, 12 in which he will neither die nor live therein. 13 He is successful who groweth, 14 remember the name of the Lord, and pray to Him. 15 Nay! you prefer the life of this world, 16 and the world to come is better, and more enduring. 17 Most surely this is in the earlier scriptures, 18 the Scrolls of Abraham and Moses. 19
