Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 labouring, weary, 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In a lofty garden, 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 And cups put in place 14 cushions ranged, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
