Elucidated (Fussilat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha Mim! 1 This (Qur’an) is sent down from the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 2 A Book the verses of which are explained in detail, the Qur’an in Arabic for people of intellect. 3 A bearer of glad tidings and a warner. Yet most of them turn aside, so that they hearken not. 4 And they say: Our hearts are under coverings from that to which you call us, and there is a heaviness in our ears, and a veil hangs between us and you, so work, we too are working. 5 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "I am only a human being like you. It is inspired in me that your Ilah (God) is One Ilah (God - Allah), therefore take Straight Path to Him (with true Faith Islamic Monotheism) and obedience to Him, and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe to Al-Mushrikun (the disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, polytheists, idolaters, etc. - see V. 2:105). 6 who do not pay the zakat, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 Indeed for those who believed and did good deeds, is a limitless reward. 8
