The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
WOE UNTO THOSE who give short measure: 1 who demand of other people full measure for themselves, 2 but when they give by measurement or weight to others, they give them less. 3 Do they not think that they will be called to account?- 4 On a mighty Day. 5 The day when (all) mankind stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Indeed! The record of the wicked is in the Sijjin -- 7 And what will explain to thee what Sijjin is? 8 It is a Book inscribed. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 Which none denieth save each criminal transgressor, 12 When our signs are recited to him, he says, 'Fairy-tales of the ancients!' 13 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. 14 No indeed! On that Day they will be screened off from seeing their Lord, 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun. 18 And what do you know what the Illiyoon are! 19 a written record, 20 witnessed by all who have [ever] been drawn close unto God. 21 Verily the pious will be in heaven, 22 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, 23 Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. 24 They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. 25 The seal thereof will be of musk. And to this end let the aspirers aspire 26 a wine whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 a fountain at which those brought near (to their Lord) drink. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink one to another (in mockery); 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 and whenever they see those [who believe,] they say: "Behold, these [people] have indeed gone astray!" 32 But they were not Sent to be guardians over them! 33 This day it is those who believe who have the laugh of disbelievers, 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
