Al-Najm 3 of 3
Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
