The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 has created man, 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
