In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 About the awesome tidings [of resurrection] 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 made the night as a covering, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 and have placed [therein the sun,] a lamp full of blazing splendour. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed, 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 [On that Day,] verily, hell will lie in wait [for those who deny the truth] 21 For the exorbitant a receptacle. 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 [And so We shall say:] "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30
