The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 And rejects the best, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 who belied and turned away, 16 And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
