HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 while you make merry? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
