No, by the moon! 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
