Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
