The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise, and warn. 2 And thine Lord magnify! 3 And your clothing purify 4 stay away from sins 5 And do not favour others in order to receive more. 6 be patient unto your Lord. 7 When the Trumpet shall be sounded, 8 Truly, that Day will be a Hard Day. 9 For the disbelievers - not easy. 10 Leave Me alone, (to deal) with the (creature) whom I created (bare and) alone!- 11 And then bestowed upon him ample means, 12 And sons to be by his side!- 13 and whom I have provided with every resource, 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give yet more! 15 By no means! For to Our Signs he has been refractory! 16 I shall inflict on him hardship, 17 Verily, he thought and plotted; 18 and thus he destroys himself, the way he meditates: 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 He then dared to lift his gaze. 21 and then he frowns and glares, 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 Then he said: "This is nothing but magic from that of old; 24 Nothing more than the speech of a man!" 25 I will soon fling him into hell. 26 And what do you know what Hell is? 27 It spares not, neither leaves alone 28 Blackening the skins. 29 Over it are nineteen [powers]. 30 And We have appointed none but the angels to be wardens of the Fire. And their number we have made only a trial for those who disbelieve, so that those who are vouchsafed the Book may be convinced, and that those who believe may increase in faith, and that those who are vouchsafed the Book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the infidels may say: what meaneth Allah by this description! In this wise Allah sendeth astray whomsoever He will, and guideth whomsoever He will. And none knoweth the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but an admonition unto man. 31
