And when thy Lord called to Moses, 'Go to the people of the evildoers, 10 the people of Pharaoh, will they not fear God? 11 He said: O my Lord! surely I fear that they will reject me; 12 and then my breast will be straitened and my tongue will not be free: send, then, [this Thy command] to Aaron. 13 "And they have a charge of crime against me, and I fear they will kill me." 14 (It was) said: "By no means. Go with My signs, both of you. I am verily with you and I hear. 15 Go, then, to Pharaoh and say to him: 'The Lord of the Universe has sent us 16 Send forth with us the Children of Israel' 17 (Firon) said: Did we not bring you up as a child among us, and you tarried among us for (many) years of your life? 18 and you did the deed which you did. You are certainly ungrateful." 19 Said he, 'Indeed I did it then, being one of those that stray; 20 "So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers. 21 And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 The Pharaoh asked, "Who is the Lord of the Universe?" 23 'He' (Moses) replied: 'is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you believe' 24 The Pharaoh said to the people around him, "Did you hear that?" 25 Said Moosa, “Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers preceding you.” 26 Said he: Most surely your Apostle who is sent to you is mad. 27 [Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason." 28 Said he, 'If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.' 29 Said Moosa, “Even if I bring to you something clear?” 30 [Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful." 31 So Moosa put down his staff and it became a visible serpent. 32 Then he uncovered his hand and it was sheer white to the onlookers. 33
