He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 And what could let you know? Perhaps he (comes to hear you) to be purified. 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 To him you attend; 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 and fearfully, 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 Inscribed in Writs honoured, 13 Exalted, Purified, 14 In the hands of scribes (angels). 15 noble and virtuous scribes. 16 Perish man! how ungrateful he is! 17 [Does man ever consider] out of what substance [God] creates him? 18 Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure, 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him. 21 Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. 22 Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 We send down abundant water, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 grapes, and fresh fodder, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 fruits, and grass. 31 all this as a provision for you and your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 On the Day whereon a man shall flee from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 And his wife and his sons; 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise). 39 And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, 40 Veiled in darkness, 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. 42
