Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

CONSIDER the bright morning hours, 1 and by the calm of night, 2 your Lord has not forsaken you (Prophet Muhammad), nor does He hate you. 3 Indeed what is to come will be better for you than what has gone by. 4 And verily, your Lord will give you (all i.e. good) so that you shall be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 Did He not find you perplexed, and show you the way? 7 And did He not find you in want, and then enriched you? 8 So do not oppress the orphan, 9 nor drive away the one who asks. 10 And as to the favour of thine Lord, discourse thou thereof. 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
