Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 These are verses of the Book of Wisdom 2 And a guidance and grace for those who do good, 3 Those who keep the prayer established and pay the charity and accept faith in the Hereafter. 4 Those are guided by their Lord and will surely prosper. 5 And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead [others] from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment. 6 Whenever Our messages are conveyed to such a person, he turns away in his arrogance, as though he had not heard them -- as though his ears were sealed: give him, then, the tidings of grievous suffering [in the life to come]. 7 [As against this,] verily, those who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall have gardens of bliss, 8 They shall abide in them forever. This is Allah's promise that shall come true. He is the Most Powerful, the Most Wise. 9 He hath created the heavens that ye behold without pillars, and hath cast into the earth firm mountains lest it move away with you; and He hath scattered thereon every kind of animal. And We send down water from the heaven and We make grow every kind of goodly growth therein. 10 this is God's creation. Show me then what those besides Him have created! The wrongdoers are in manifest error. 11
