Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 In a lofty garden, 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 O would that it had made an end (of me): 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 I am bereft of power." 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37
