Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, 1 guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. 2 And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son, 3 And that the foolish one among us used to speak concerning Allah an atrocious lie. 4 And verily we! we had imagined that humankind and jinn would never forge against Allah a lie. 5 And persons among humankind have been seeking refuge with persons of the jinn, so that they increased them in evil disposition. 6 Those people thought, like you, that God would never send down a Messenger. 7 "We went near the heavens but found it to be full of strong guards and shooting flames. 8 we used to take up a position to listen, but whoever listens now finds a flaming fire lying in wait for him -- 9 And so we do not know whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 For some of us are upright and some otherwise: Surely we follow different ways. 11 We knew that we could never challenge God whether we stayed on earth or fled elsewhere. 12 When we heard the call to guidance, we believed in it. He who believes in his Lord has no fear of loss or of injustice. 13 And that some of us are those who submit, and some of us are the deviators; so whoever submits, these aim at the right way: 14 'But those who swerve,- they are (but) fuel for Hell-fire'- 15 Had they (jinn and mankind) remained steadfast in their religion (Islam), We would certainly have given them abundant water to drink 16 So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment. 17 and that “mosques belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone with Him”; 18 And when the bondman of Allah stood calling upon Him, they well nigh pressed on him stifling. 19
