The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the great event, 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 and made the night [its] cloak 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 For the exorbitant a receptacle. 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 (They will be told), "Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you". 30
