The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ruin is for the defrauders. (Those who measure less.) 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. 3 Do they not think they will be raised (to life) again 4 On a Mighty Day, 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 By no means! Verily the record of the ungodly is in Sijjin. 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 It is a written book. 9 Ah the woe that day for those who deny, 10 Who call the Day of judgement a lie! 11 Yet none gives the lie to it except the transgressor immersed in sin; 12 [and so,] whenever Our messages are conveyed to them, they but say: "Fables of ancient times!" 13 By no means! Aye! encrusted upon their hearts is that which they have been earning. 14 Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day, 15 then they shall roast in Hell. 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 NAY, VERILY - the record of the truly virtuous is [set down] in a mode most lofty! 18 And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? 19 (It is) a marked Book, 20 To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 resting on couches, looking around. 23 You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, 25 The seal thereof will be of musk. And to this end let the aspirers aspire 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 a fountain at which those brought near (to their Lord) drink. 28 The sinners indeed laughed at believers 29 And winked at one another as they passed by them; 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 And they were not sent to be keepers over them. 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. 36
