It is He who sends down water from the sky. From it you drink and with it trees grow on which you pasture your cattle. 10 With it He produces for you corn, olives, date-palms, grapes and every kind of fruit: verily in this is a sign for those who give thought. 11 And He has subjected for you the night and day and the sun and moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason. 12 And other things of different shades has He produced on the earth for you. In this are signs for those who reflect. 13 And He it is Who hath constrained the sea to be of service that ye eat fresh meat from thence, and bring forth from thence ornaments which ye wear. And thou seest the ships ploughing it that ye (mankind) may seek of His bounty and that haply ye may give thanks. 14 And He cast on the earth firm mountains, lest it shake with you, and rivers and ways; so haply you will be guided; 15 and He has set up other landmarks. By these and by the stars people set their course. 16 So will He Who creates ever be like one who does not create? So do you not heed advice? 17 If ye would count up the favours of Allah, never would ye be able to number them: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 18 Allah has knowledge of all that you hide and all that you reveal. 19 And those they invoke other than Allah create nothing, and they [themselves] are created. 20 They are dead, not living; and they do not know when they will be raised (to life). 21
