۞ When (Jesus) the son of Mary is held up as an example, behold, thy people raise a clamour thereat (in ridicule)! 57 And say: Are our gods better, or is he? They raise not the objection save for argument. Nay! but they are a contentious folk. 58 He was no more than a servant: We granted Our favour to him, and We made him an example to the Children of Israel. 59 Had We willed, We would have appointed angels among you to be successors in the earth. 60 And most surely it is a knowledge of the hour, therefore have no doubt about it and follow me: this is the right path. 61 Let not Satan bar you; he is for you a manifest foe. 62 And when Isa came with evidences, he said: of a surety I have come unto you with wisdom, and to expound unto you some of that wherein ye differ; so fear Allah and obey me. 63 "For Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord: so worship ye Him: this is a Straight Way." 64 But the parties among them fell into variance; so woe unto those who did evil, because of the chastisement of a painful day. 65 Are they waiting (for any thing) but the Hour (of Doom) which would descend upon them suddenly, and catch them unawares? 66 Friends on that day will be foes, one to another,- except the Righteous. 67
