Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 In a lofty garden, 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 O would that it had made an end (of me): 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 I am bereft of power." 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
