Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 As justification or warning, 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
