The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 And rejects the best, 9 We shall pave his way to hardship, 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
