HALLOWED is He who has set up in the skies great constellations, and has placed among them a [radiant] lamp and a light-giving moon. 61 And He it is who causes the night and the day to succeed one another, [revealing Himself in His works] unto him who has the will to take thought - that is has the will to be grateful. 62 The true servants of the Gracious One are those who walk upon the earth with humility and when they are addressed by the ignorant ones, their response is, "Peace"; 63 And these who pass the night before their Lord, prostrate and standing up. 64 And these who say: our Lord! avert from us the torment of Hell; verily the torment thereof is perishment. 65 It is indeed an evil halt and an evil abode;" 66 and who, whenever they spend on others, are neither wasteful nor niggardly but [remember that] there is always a just mean between those [two extremes]; 67 And those who do not worship any other deity along with Allah, and do not unjustly kill any living thing which Allah has forbidden, nor commit adultery; and whoever does this will receive punishment. 68 and his torment shall be doubled on the Day of Resurrection, and he shall abide in a state of ignominy, 69 save him who repents, and believes, and does righteous work -- those, God will change their evil deeds into good deeds, for God is ever All-forgiving, All-compassionate; 70 And whoever repents and does good, he surely turns to Allah a (goodly) turning. 71 And those who witness not falsehood, and when they pass by some vanity pass by with dignity. 72 And they who, when reminded of the communications of their Lord, do not fall down thereat deaf and blind. 73 And who say: Our Lord! Vouchsafe us comfort of our wives and of our offspring, and make us patterns for (all) those who ward off (evil). 74 They will all receive Paradise as their reward for their forbearance and patience, where they will be greeted with, "Peace be with you." 75 Abiders therein: excellent it is as an abode and as a station. 76 Say: "My Lord is not concerned on your account if you do not pray to Him. You have surely done with denying; soon will come the inevitable judgement. 77
