Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 And We made his offspring the survivors. 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 Would you serve false deities instead of God? 86 Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 The people invited him to attend their feast). Then he looked at the stars 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 So the people descended upon him. 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 Abraham said: “I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 And when he became capable of working with him, Ibrahim said, “O my son, I dreamt that I am sacrificing you – therefore now consider what is your opinion”; he said, “O my father! Do what you are commanded! Allah willing, you will soon find me patiently enduring!” 102 When both surrendered (to Allah's command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead, 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac, and from their offspring are some gooddoers, and others who clearly wronged themselves. 113
