Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 cast lots, and was among the losers. 141 The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ So We cast him, sick, on a barren shore, 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 AND NOW ask them to enlighten thee: Has thy Sustainer daughters, whereas they would have [only] sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Lo! it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 "God has begotten [a son]"; and verily, they are lying [too, when they say,] 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Then bring your Book if you are truthful! 157 And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment]. 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship, 161 Can mislead anyone away from Him, 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 we are those who stand ranged in ranks. 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 Surely we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 Would they hasten on Our doom? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And see, for they are going to see. 179 Exaltations be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above that they describe! 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
