Nay, and by the moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 a warning to humans, 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
