Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 when the planets are scattered, 2 and when the seas burst beyond their bounds, 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one, 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 No! But you deny the Recompense. 9 And indeed there are some guardians over you. 10 Honourablel scribes. 11 who know whatever you do. 12 Verily the pious shall be in Delight. 13 whereas, behold, the wicked will indeed be in a blazing fire 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 What will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
