Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he. 1 What will his wealth avail him, and all that he has gained? 2 He shall soon burn in fire that flames, 3 And his wife, the wood-carrier, 4 with a rope of twisted fibre round her neck. 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
