Noah called to Us, and We are the Best to answer. 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 Then did he cast a glance at the Stars. 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. 97 And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds. 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 Peace be on Ibrahim. 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls. 113
